Digital Theater System
Developed and introduced in 2005, the Digital Theater System format is used in HD films. DTS has a multi-channel sound with various functions. All audio information is divided into five tracks. A separate audio player is not required. The Digital Theater System format allows you to achieve the five-channel sound that is used in cinemas. The rate of the digital stream amounts to 1,536,000 bits per second. DTS is compatible with the 7.1 acoustics format and the conventional stereo format.
Advanced Audio Coding (AAC)
This format stands for advanced audio encoding. Created as an alternative to mp3, it allows for compressing files at bitrates identical to mp3, obtaining high-quality sound. Files of the AAC format contain many sampling frequencies. Advanced Audio Coding includes 48 channels. This type of encoding is more efficient and includes a larger number of filters. Files of the Advanced Audio Coding format cut off the frequencies which the human hearing cannot perceive. This results in a reduction of the original file size.
