This format extension is one of the Speex Audio formats. It is an open-source codec developed by Xiph.Org. Used for creating voice messages and transmitting voice over packet-based networks with a low level of security. It is an audio file with recorded voice messages that are packaged in an OGG file. Only certain media players can open it.

Core Audio Format

This audio file container was created by Apples developers. CAF incorporates a huge amount of information: the artists name, the songs duration, the names of the album and track. In terms of size, files of the CAFformat can exceed 4 GB. After its emergence in 2005, Core Audio Format replaced AIFF and WAV. It has a lower compression ratio, so the quality of audio does not suffer as a result of compression. CAF files are often used to create various sound effects.
